A large utility in New York maintains approximately 275,000  manholes that house underground cables, transformers, and conduits.  Service activities on this lead-wrapped transmission equipment, as well as natural corrosion processes, result in lead and lead compounds accumulating in sediment at the bottom of manholes. After evaluating many traditional stabilization technologies, the utility selected Enviro-Prep® Special because the water-based, pH neutral product achieved all of the following treatment goals:
