JOB SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the Supervisor of Landscape Architectural Services, this position is responsible for performing technical and administrative duties related to capital construction projects including investigating and resolving construction related concerns.  These projects may include trails, parks, general open space, and minor structures such as shelters, culverts, and retaining walls.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:  Demonstrated knowledge of the theories and practices of landscape architecture usually acquired by obtaining a degree in Landscape Architecture or a diploma in Landscape Technology or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.  Eligibility for membership in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve construction complaints, manipulate computerized construction data and write and interpret technical reports gained through practical work experience. Demonstrated ability to arrange for pre-construction meetings and prepare associated documentation. Experience in a computerized environment.  Must have working knowledge of MS Word and Excel; Fast Track and Micro station programs considered an asset. Must understand the processes of tendering and constructed municipal public open spaces such as parks and trails. NOTE: Must possess and maintain a Class "G" Driver's License valid in the Province of Ontario and provision of a personal vehicle for use on the job.
