Business Development Manager 

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Manager with property management industry experience to join Gelderman Landscape Services, a leading horticultural provider with aggressive growth plans.   In 2016, two new branch locations were opened and more branches are to be added within the next few years.

We are looking for an experienced business development manager with strong relationship skills, a background in selling Business to Business and a proven track record in sales.  Familiarity with landscaping and/or property management is preferred.  Successful candidates in their first year can earn between $50,000 – $80,000.

Reporting to the President, the Business Development Manager will play an instrumental role in the expansion of Gelderman Landscape Services, connecting with the property management community and our prospective clients. Your planning and detailed preparation combined with your self-motivating nature will help you build lasting relationships which will develop into new sales opportunities. 


  • Responsible for driving the relationship development functions for the K-W, Guelph, Burlington, Oakville & Mississauga areas
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with prospective and new clientele
  • Be responsible for growing the revenues for this product line within Gelderman
  • Follow up with existing customers to confirm their satisfaction by renewing their contracts and generate future leads.
  • Represent the company at networking & promotional events
  • Produce professionally-written proposals and communications for clientele
  • Field visits and other onsite work will be required to familiarize you with all service offerings.
  • Closely work with the Branch Managers in enhancing existing relationships


  • College Diploma in Business, Marketing and/or Horticulture
  • +3 years’ experience in a Business to Business service industry
  • +3 years’ experience in the Property Management industry
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with a record of success in a consultative sales environment.
  • Uses a systematic approach when managing sales pipeline, email and conflict resolution
  • Advance knowledge of office automation tools; Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • A passion for service excellence.
  • Superb professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be highly-motivated with excellent time management skills.
