SUPERVISOR, FLORAL SHOWHOUSE 

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Queen Victoria Park and within established policies, procedures and guidelines to manage and assist in the floral design of gardens, Floral Showhouse and greenhouse production of plants, operations of the Garden Gift Shop and surrounding grounds. To ensure sound Horticultural practices are understood, implemented and adhered to. Ensures that a high level of customer service is maintained and that operations are efficient and profitable in a manner that meets or exceeds the acceptable standards of the NPC management and Commission.

 

Qualifications:

Three year Horticulture diploma or equivalent knowledge and previous experience. Must hold the Structural Spray License Class 6. Three years of progressive management experience in a unionized workplace. Practical experience in the management of conservatory, exhibition, show design, and bedding plant growth and cultivation. Knowledge of bedding, exhibition plant culture and performance, suitability for designs, creative design skills of bedding plants, conservatory and events. Experience with Health and Safety, the Health and Safety Act, inspections, incident reports, procedures, budget management, report preparation is required. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Experience required in Horticulture teaching with lectures and evaluations. Retail experience with merchandising, cash handling, and Retail software (Retail Pro) is an asset. A successful Police Information Check is required for the selected candidate.

Niagara Parks offers an annual salary of $63,150 to $75,470 as well as a comprehensive benefit and pension plan.
