Currently we are looking for a Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager who would leads many teams simultaneously to provide our full range of maintenance services for our Maintenance Division. This is a permanent, full-time, year-round opportunity.

Our new Manager will be able to seamlessly carry out responsibilities that drive productivity, quality and sales. As our new Manager you have the ability to use our processes and your knowledge of landscaping best practices to make our clients happy and nurture relationships.

Exceptional communication skills play a part whether you interact with our clients, provide updates, up-sell services and all the while ensuring that the client is well taken care of everyday. When not interacting with clients, you will be communicating with staff and colleagues as a mentor and coach so that the scope of work can be accomplished and where necessary make decisions that impact the team, colleagues and company positively. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee seasonal staffing requirements, orientation, employee reviews and training
  • Follow-up with employees to ensure training is provided and progress achieved
  • Operations scheduling and dispatching of employees and company equipment
  • Always providing and ensuring a safe environment for all staff
  • Service company’s clientele with a customer first always attitude
  • Ability to motivate employees and provide a positive work environment
  • Lead by example and demonstration
  • Experience handling all landscape maintenance preparation all year and ensure smooth business operations – summer, winter, fall and spring
  • Provide job estimates, track costs and bill clients where necessary
  • Ability to identify training opportunities and areas of improvement amidst the team
  • Recommend new practises and procedures for compliance and productivity
  • Develop strategies to improve departmental financial performance and forecast potential costs/inefficiencies
  • Plan, prioritize and execute proper actions given competing daily demands
  • Manage all staff accordingly while maintaining a level of confidentiality
  • Ability to identify issues and challenges and problem-solve for best results
  • Plan and execute seasonal employee appreciation events for staff
  • Attend meetings and events related to landscaping operations
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships internally and externally
  • Ensure that company equipment is used only for business purposes only
  • Always working in an ethical manner
  • Other duties as required

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years management and 5 years industry experience
  • Education in the field or equivalent experience – Horticulture or Landscaping
  • IPM Knowledge preferred
  • Experience working with various landscape maintenance equipment and tools
  • Use computer software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Skilled in negotiations to handle various situations
  • G Licence required - clean drivers abstract required
  • Available to work all year (not a seasonal position)
