• Work in the field with the landscape design crew conducting field layouts, site measurements, and analysis
  •Work in the field with the landscape installation crews
  •Work in the field with the landscape maintenance crews
  •Work in the field with irrigation service/installation crews
• Job position responsibilities:
• Design, draw sketches and build models of landscape with the use computer assisted technology
  •Lead and supervise landscape installation teams of gardeners, technicians and subcontractors in the building and/or renovation of landscapes
  •Identify and assess horticultural problems and provide appropriate technical or business advice to commercial and public sector clients
  •Train employees and make sure workers are taught to perform work correctly and efficiently. You will attend a two day workshop that focuses on teaching people how others learn, as well as the best methods of improving skills of workers, on the job site
  •Organize and manage work time, solve problems and make decisions, make presentations to management and team members
  •Network and liaise with clients and other landscape industry personnel
  •Conceptualize and market a concept and solution to clients
  •Provide landscape design services for various residential and commercial design/build projects
  •Conduct field layouts, site measurements, and analysis
  •Draft base plans, presentation drawings, and details
  •Demonstrate illustrative skills and the ability to produce plans
  •Use landscape design software proficiently, that includes one or all the following: AutoCAD (preferred), Vectorworks Landmark, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Lumion, AutoDesk 3ds Max, Rhino, and AutoDesk Revit
• Job skills requirements (includes education and work experience)
• Education:
• A 4 year University Bachelors degree in either Horticultural Sciences, Landscape architecture or Agricultural Engineering
  •Postsecondary institution training in Landscape design
• Directly related work experience:
• Project management: planning, leading, executing, time management, budget, documentation and sustainability
  •Computer aided design and technical drawing for communicating in the landscape industry
  •Horticultural consulting and advisory work
  •Field work in landscape horticulture
  •Installing and servicing irrigation and water management systems for tree and plant material
  •Installing landscape products
  •Training and supervising employees
• Job position terms of employment:
• This job is a permanent position
  •Vacation will be paid on every payday
  •Sick days are not paid
  •The wage salary will range between $26 per hour
  •An employee benefits package including health and life insurance coverage will be offered
  •The workplace language will be English
  •The workweek will consist of a minimum of 30 hours, Monday through Friday. In the event that it rains on a workday, you may have to work Saturday to make up for the missed day
  •Vehicle supplied by the employer
• Dress code:
• Generally wear shorts, or pants, and long-sleeved shirts. Wear a brimmed hat and comfortable clothing that provides sun protection. Wear sunglasses that filter out the sun's ultraviolet rays;
  •Tough shoes, gardening gloves, sunscreen and knee pads;
  •Consider taking waterproof or windproof jacket and pants; and
  •Bring lots of water to stay hydrated
