Certified Irrigation Technician

Groundhog Landscaping Ltd & Group of Companies services the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in install and maintenance of irrigation and lighting systems. We are looking for Certified Irrigation Technicians to join our team for the upcoming season.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification for an Irrigation Technician, additional education/training preferred
- 2 - 5 years of experience as an Irrigation Technician
- Extensive knowledge of irrigation products, specialized tools, troubleshooting and repair
- Extensive knowledge of outdoor lighting products, specialized tools, troubleshooting and repair, is an asset
- Valid class “G” driver’s license, with a clean driving record (abstract available upon request)
- Self-motivated, eager to learn and have a great customer first attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills to enhance job performance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both oral and written
- Some plumbing or copper soldering experience is required
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers and crew members in a polite and courteous manner
- The technician will be involved in all tasks related to the maintenance of an irrigation and outdoor lighting system of our customer properties – Spring Opening Inspections, Mid-Season Inspection, Closing Inspections, Repairs, Retrofits of Existing Systems, Diagnosing, Troubleshooting etc.
- Help conduct daily inspections on vehicle, tools and equipment and perform the required maintenance
- Plan, coordinate and maintain adequate part inventory in company vehicle
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills to enhance job performance
- Ensure work is performed efficiently and safely in accordance with WSIB standards
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
