Certified Landscape Technician

Groundhog Landscaping Ltd & Group of Companies services the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in maintenance and are looking for experienced landscape technicians to join our team for the upcoming season. A certificate/diploma in a Horticulture program will be considered an asset however is not required. Potential to participate in the apprenticeship program if desired.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of turf, plant material and garden maintenance considered is preferred
- Experienced with mowing, trimming, weeding, cultivation, mulching, top dressing/over seeding and edging of garden areas
- Experienced with Zero Turn Mowers, Push Mowers, Trimmers, Blowers, Hedge Trimmers and Hand Tools
- Detail oriented
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Able to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated
- Work outdoors in various conditions
- Must be able to perform physical and repetitive duties over the length of the day
- Flexible working hours, including the occasional weekend
- Valid G Driver’s License and clean driving abstract (abstract available upon request)
- Snow operating experience is a valuable asset
- Horticulture certification/diploma will be considered a valuable asset
Responsibilities:
- The technician will be involved in all tasks related to the maintenance of our customer properties - Spring and Fall clean up, weeding, pruning and dead heading, mulching and amending existing gardens, planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, creating new gardens, grass cutting, lawn mowing, trim/edging of lawn, blowing etc.
- Help conduct daily inspections on vehicle, tools and equipment and perform the required maintenance
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Communicate with customers and crew members in a polite and courteous manner

Salary: $16.00 to $21.00 /hour
