Hardscape Crew

Heart and Grit is a team of dedicated skilled workers, driven by a passion for stone, wood and plants. We are currently in collaboration with a Landscape Architect for our 2020 project season, promising a chance to work on high end, diverse designs and see through the completion of exceptional residential projects. Heart and Grit is a design and construction business, with experience in natural stone, interlock, Cedar and Ipe decking, landscape lighting, horticultural design and installation. We are motivated by attention to sharp work, clean lines, positive energy and going the extra mile for our staff and clients.

We understand that begins with being offered opportunities to learn additional skills, grow in responsibility and the prospect of a reliable income. We understand all of this influences your life and well being outside of work. We are seeking people with a combination of relevant experience listed below:

• We are outdoors 8 to 10 hours a day M-F from late April until mid November, this is a full-time, recurring seasonal position

• We work with detailed plans, with cross-sections and additional drawings- these are discussed as a team

• Experience operating machinery, such as plate compactors, excavators, grinders and saws

• Manual lifting and building of stone walls, walkways, waterfalls and planters

• Comfort with a quick-cut saw, excavator, mallet, drills and measuring tape are ideal

• Experience or education in construction trades, landscaping, architecture are all assets

• G License and ease of navigation with a truck and trailer is a plus, our sites are currently located in the Wakefield region, however we work in Ottawa and Gatineau alike

• Knowledge and ease with planting perennials, trees and shrubs is a benefit

• Carpentry skills, experience and precision are invaluable
