Job Posting for a temporary Summer Grounds Person / Handyperson

Located minutes from Downtown Toronto in the Studio District, Pinewood Toronto Studios (“PTS”) offers 11 stages for film and television productions, including the Mega Stage, one of North America’s largest purpose-built sound stages.  PTS is seeking an experienced Grounds Person / Handyperson to assist our Maintenance team on a temporary basis during the 2018 summer season.

The Role:

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager but must be able to work independently and unsupervised to successfully and carefully complete defined tasks integral to the broader initiatives of a larger team.  This role will be contracted from May 28, 2018 until August 31, 2018.  The wage will be $14.50 per hour.

Among other tasks, this role is responsible for:

  • Grass cutting and trimming using a gas powered push mower and a gas powered trimmer;
  • Tree pruning;
  • Gardening (including planting, weeding, and watering);
  • Custodial duties around the studio site (including monitoring and removing litter on the grounds, participating in studio-wide “fall clean up / winterization” activities, emptying garbage and recycling bins, sweeping / using gas-powered blower to clear walkways and parking lots, “spot cleaning” as needed with mop and carpet steam cleaner);
  • Driving, as needed, a John Deere Gator vehicle and a pick-up truck on and off-site in a safe and conscientious manner;
  • Painting; and
  • Various related tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.


G class license


WHMIS training is an asset but not required

Experience driving a John Deere Gator or similar vehicle is an asset but not required.
