Job Purpose
Required to perform manual duties for various landscape construction projects for residential and commercial properties. As a member of a landscape team, the right candidate would be a hard-working, reliable individual. Arriving at work on time and prepared for the day. Finding ways to improve the process or the project. Training is provided for this position, however, landscaping or construction experience is an asset.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to get to various job locations. Most of our work is on easily accessible transit lines. However, access to a vehicle and a G licence is an asset.
- Construction experience (interior or exterior)
- Certification in equipment use
- Understanding of landscape construction in the following aspects – interlocking, retaining walls, resurfacing, excavation, drainage, reconstruction, patios, walkways, decks, fencing, concrete pouring etc (See job application for a detailed skills checklist!)
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of planting, transplanting, cultivating, pruning and maintaining a variety of lawns, plants, shrubs and trees.
- Ability to operate a truck and trailer.
- Ability to operate landscape/construction equipment.
Job Requirements
Work hours vary slightly but are 7:30am - 6:00pm. (weekdays) Weekend work optional
Learn to read and interpret landscape plans
Come to work attentive ready to learn and work hard
Perform physical labour – lifting objects weighing more than 25lbs
Ability to work while abiding by safety policy and procedures
Wage
Hourly rate ranges from $15- $19 /hr
Compensation for this position is based on experience level, it will be tailored to meet your specific needs both in a professional capacity but also in your personal life.
