Who We Are Looking For:

Our company has an opening for a full time, experienced LANDSCAPE CREW LEADER


The Landscape Crew Leader will be responsible for planting, installing and maintaining customer gardens and lawns through the use of various tools and machinery with a priority on customer service, efficiency and safety.

This position will require the candidate to delegate tasks, ensure proper safety procedures are followed, interact with customers in a courteous manner, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and accurately.



  • Install rock gardens, ponds, patios, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, water features, lighting and planters
  • Spread top soil; lay sod; plant flowers, grasses, shrubs and trees
  • Perform fall and spring clean-up; weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees; and execute other maintenance duties as directed by supervisor/manager
  • Edge around flower beds, walks, and walls
  • Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes
  • Decorate gardens with stones and pavers
  • Work alongside Landscape Designer in regards to scheduling, daily tasks, and future jobs
  • Oversee landscape crew members to ensure proper work procedures are followed and schedule deadlines are met
  • Delegate daily tasks so everyone in crew, including the crew leader, knows what they are to accomplish on the job site
  • Ensure job sites are cleaned of all debris and materials before leaving the client’s property
  • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safe handling of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and other dangerous chemicals
  • Clean working areas and maintain tools and equipment
  • Report any health and safety issues or other infractions to Landscape Designer
  • Converse with customers in regards to their questions, concerns, or complaints in a courteous and helpful manner; inform them of proper maintenance procedures and plant care or refer to designer


  • Post-Secondary school education in landscape design/technician, horticultural technician OR related training/experience preferred
  • Landscaping crew leadership or relevant experience required
  • Valid driver's licence and clean abstract required
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a friendly, customer-oriented disposition
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications related to the work assigned
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
  • Skilled with trade calculations and numeracy
  • Ability to perform multiple job tasks to meet various project deadlines
  • Ability to take instruction, work in a team and lead a crew
  • Willingness to learn

What We Offer:

Job Type: Full-time, seasonal

Wage: $16/ to $20/hr; negotiable depending on experience
