Summary:

Quiet Nature’s Naturalization division works alongside other trades and contractors to enhance, restore, and create natural spaces. Our projects include; naturalizing stormwater ponds, planting trees in residential and commercial areas, creating meadow and prairie habitat, and woodlot enhancement on rural properties. Projects can last from a few days to several weeks, and typically involve planting several thousand native trees and shrubs.

The Planting Technician is a nature-lovin’ people person who is genuinely enjoyable to be around.They have a relentless drive and a keen ability to focus and stay motivated. They thrive under pressure, are excited by a challenge and the opportunity to learn new skills. They assist the Naturalization Lead Hand by contributing to an efficient, productive, and safe jobsite. Their main responsibility is planting trees and shrubs.

Additional skills that would be an asset:

  • Experience tree planting
  • Driving truck and trailer (enclosed and flatbed)
  • Power tool, chainsaw experience
  • Skid Steer and Mini Ex Operation
  • Lead hand/supervisor experience

Job Duties:

  • Receive daily instructions from Lead Hand or Naturalization Division Manager
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Plant trees and shrubs
  • Operate power tools/equipment including, but not limited to; line trimmers, gas powered augers, power drills, chainsaws
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Assist the lead hand/manager in other work-related duties including construction projects, nursery maintenance, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain a safe and organized jobsite
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Help the construction and maintenance divisions when required

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Ability to report directly to job sites in various locations
  • Education/knowledge gained in a field related to Naturalization/Landscaping

Work Conditions:

  • Fast paced environment
  • In close proximity to equipment
  • Loud, dusty, hot, rainy, cold, wet!
  • 10 hour days Monday to Friday, and occasional Saturdays
