The Richmond Hill Golf and Country Club is currently seeking to fill the Head Landscape Gardener position for the 2020 season.

Qualifications:

• Certificate, diploma or degree in horticulture

• Ontario class G drivers license

• Ontario landscape exterminators license 

Duties & Requirements:

• Ability to coordinate daily activities for garden maintenance and instruct summer student staff in the proper gardening methods and supervise their performance.

• A working knowledge and demonstrated experience in basic maintenance and preparation of garden flower and shrub beds and the planting and watering of outdoor planters.

• Maintain cleanliness of hard surface areas such as parking lots, garden paths and walkways using hand and power equipment.

• Knowledge of and able to identify methods of treatment of pests and disease in the landscape.

• Ability to lift at least 20kg and work outside in all weather conditions.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday: 6:30am to 2pm, Saturday & Sunday (Alternating Weekends 6:30am to 11am) – (Schedule is 12 days on, 2 days off)

Work Environment:

Work is performed outdoors and on the golf course, with exposure to heat, cold, sun, wind and rain. This includes very warm conditions during the summer months. Temperatures can range from the high 30’s in the peak of summer, to colder temperatures of 5c and below during fall months.

Wage: $18.00 - $20.00/hr
