Bruce Tree Expert Company Ltd., an Etobicoke based tree care company is seeking to fill the position of Ground crew member / Arborist support staff.
The successful candidate would join our team and take pride in playing a key support role, by assisting in all non-climbing related aspects of our tree care operation.
The successful candidate would ideally have a strong interest in the arboriculture industry or a background in landscaping. Previous experience working in the tree care or landscape industry would be preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
General scope of work would include such tasks as:
-Assisting the arborist crew in the daily aspects of residential & commercial tree care projects, including assisting in site prep and set up, rigging, moving and chipping of brush and wood, raking and final clean up
-Assisting in tree planting
-Stump grinding and the after care of tree removal sites.
-Fertilization of residential and commercial sites.
-Installation of tree protection zones.
-General maintenance around the shop and yard.
Experience, skills and training considered favourable:
-Tree care experience
-Landscaping experience
-First Aid training
-Working at heights training
-G-class licence is a must, but a DZ licence would be preferred.
-Chainsaw training
-Skid-Steer training
-Familiarity with brush chippers
-Mechanical aptitude
This position is seasonal, generally from April to November, approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, paying an hourly rate of $16 to $20 per hour depending on experience.
