RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Under the direction of the Design Manager:

• Assist in all design related activities
• Site inventory & analysis & preparation of baseplans
• Develop conceptual landscape plans & renderings
• Preparation of planting plans, layout plans, lighting plans
• Productions of construction documentation including grading plans, details, and product specifications
• Meet deadlines for project stages
• Ability to work on multiple projects at a time
• Create preliminary cost estimates for projects
• Conduct site visits during construction as required
• Assist in general office tasks as assigned
• Adopt company policies & procedures
• Continual commitment to Education in landscape industry
• Production of Permit drawings including permit submission administration
• Provide support and direction to Junior Designers
• Assist in site meetings and project management as required
• Assist with construction estimates as required
• Support the Design Manager as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or Design related degree preferred
• Advanced Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and municipal bylaws
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Sketchup, Vectorworks or Autocad
• Possess good time management skills – consistently meet deadlines
• Good communication skills, both verbal & written 
• Experience in landscape construction considered an asset
• Demonstrable Knowledge of construction techniques and basic knowledge of horticulture and plant needs 
• Hand drawing/sketching skills considered an asset
