I am an independent gardener & landscape designer, in business for 6 years.
I would like to hire 2 -3 additional people to work 25+ hours a week from May to November. If you are a student and plan to return to school in September that will be fine with me.
My preference is for people with gardening experience, primarily:
If you've done any amount of serious gardening, you'll know that it's physically demanding, especially for 5 hours a day! Newbies that I've hired in the past are shocked by how tiring it is. You have to actually enjoy the physical part (at least a bit) or you won't last.
The gardening services I offer cover just about everything a home owner might need including:
- Designing and installing new gardens
- Re-designing & updating existing gardens
- Laying sod
- Garden clean ups
- Gravel & flagstone patio's
- Small raised garden walls
My client base is primarily mid-town and east end Toronto, with about 10 clients in the west end (High Park to Kipling). You will be required to get to each job site using TTC or your own transportation.
I can offer a solid 25-35+ hours of work every week during the season, and I’m offering $15/hr to start. For solid, experienced people the rate will be higher.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being outside during the warm weather, loves physical work especially working in the garden, are reliable with a great work ethic, friendly, and have a good sense of humour. I provide all the tools, gloves, etc. You just need a pair of work boots.
