As Groundsperson you will work under the direction of the Manager of Gardens in the care, maintenance and development of the gardens and grounds associated with the historic site Casa Loma with over 6 acrea of speciality garden areas. Applicants need to have at least two years experience in garden/landscape maintenance, knowledge of plant material and basic horticultural tehniques are an asset. Typical duties would be: planting,watering and weeding of flower and shrub beds, cutting and trimming turf areas, assist with pruning trees and shrubs, litter control and garbage pickup, cleaning and maintenance of fountains and water gardens, ability to operate a wide variety of power equipment.
For Summer Students(4 months) preference is given to students enrolled in a horticulture or Environmental Science program.
For Seasonal Groundskeeper(7-8 months) minimum two years experience in garden maintenance.
All applicants must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and be able to do physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, bending down and tolerant of temperature extremes.
Renumeration based on experience.
