Position: Career opportunity in the field of Urban Forestry, as an Arborist Apprentice with our Northumberland and Quinte West office.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Groundwork support for trimming operations.
• Chainsaw and Chipper operation.
• Ability to learn climbing and proper pruning procedures.
• Assist the trimmers and foreperson in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Understanding and implementing the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
• A good understanding of knots and tree identification.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Chainsaw and Chipper operation.
• Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5 ton vehicle and Z endorsement an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

• Compensation based on qualifications and experience : $16.50 – $20.00 per hour
• Full time year-round employment.
• Occasional overtime is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
