LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE MANAGER POSITION

Reporting to management, this position involves a wide range of duties varying from employee management to customer interaction, as well as invoicing in respect to Heritage Stoneworks Maintenance division. The successful candidate will supervise the activities of landscape grounds maintenance workers for multiple sites and projects. This Manager will be the key contact for customers as the Maintenance Account Manager provides exceptional customer service and offers suggestions for Landscape Construction, enhancement services and ground’s upgrades.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of Management in Landscape field
  • 2 years’ experience in Snow Management
  • Valid insurable drivers license
  • Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills as the ability to manage priorities and workloads is crucial
  • Basic understanding and ability to use Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, LMN Time (on job training)
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrate ability to perform all tasks associated with maintenance operations
  • Experience in leading crews and motivating staff
  • Superior communication skills with staff and customers
  • Flexible and adaptable with demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Willing and able to obtain related training, licenses and/or certifications as may be required

Work Schedule

The account manager will generally work Monday – Friday and weekends if deadlines warrant. A workday will generally be a 10 hour day, depending upon scheduling and seasonal demands. In the winter, the Maintenance Manager will generally be on call 24/7 from the period of November to April. Being on call 24/7 will require working through nights, weekends and holidays; long hours are a must.

Job Description

  • Training and ensuring staff meet Heritage Stoneworks safety policies and work ethic
  • Work with LMN timesheets for payroll (daily), manage schedule and invoice as needed (monthly)
  • Developing professional relationship with new and existing customers
  • Conduct site visits, prepare job plans, assess work completed and manage approximately 60 sites per year
  • Co-ordinate activities with maintenance crews and the construction division, as required
  • Organize and schedule the mobilization of winter maintenance with constant communication with all managers
  • Continually monitor forecast 24/7 and engage in all broadcasts of the weather
  • Winter operation is a hands on job and Maintenance Manager will be expected to help where needed
  • Work occurs mainly on-site on customer property, company vehicle or at the head office
  • Driving on a daily basis is required
