Part-time Teaching Opportunity in the Environmental Landscape Management program, Seneca College

The Environmental Landscape Management program at Seneca College’s King campus is looking for a part-time faculty to join our team for the Fall to teach a course in Landscape Construction (EVL 384).  This eight hour per week contract involves teaching third semester students in the program using a mixture of lecture (2 hours) and practical skills sessions with small groups of students (3 hours + 3 hours).  The course introduces students to the basic materials and tools utilized in the landscape construction industry.  Students develop a set of practical skills over the 14 weeks of the semester which will prepare them to recommend specific landscape treatments, whether they are new installations or situations that involve areas needing corrective repair.

The classes are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday afternoons from early September to mid-December (with a study break week from 22nd – 26th October).  Calculation of pay rate will be based on an assessment of education and experience using the Ontario Colleges’ pay grid.

Anyone interested in applying should email a resume and brief cover letter to gary.galbraith@senecacollege.ca before 30th July 2018.  We look forward to receiving applications for this position.
