VISION

Founded in 2015, Atlas Growers is a Canadian medical cannabis production company located near Edmonton, Alberta. We strive to improve people’s lives by producing premium, pharmaceutically viable cannabis flower and related cannabis products while simultaneously leading the industry on the science behind the historically misunderstood and misrepresented cannabis plant. With a talented team of educated, experienced and dedicated members, a growing list of exciting new partnerships, and our ultramodern cannabis production facility and laboratory; we hope to change the framework of what is understood about cannabis, while pushing the limits on the myriad of medically viable phytochemicals it produces.

PRODUCT

Our state-of-the-art, purpose built 38,000 square foot building, is designed to cultivate and process the highest-grade cannabis products possible. The technology incorporated into the building and industry-leading cultivation practices are coupled with a fully indoor, climate-controlled environment to enable the customizable ecosystems needed to properly cultivate the cannabis plant at maximum efficiency. We have 160 acres of land at our disposal and are currently engineering three, 350,000 square foot expansions to ultimately have nearly 1,100,000 square feet of growing space, with the business being on track to ship our first products in November 2018.

Job Summary

We are look for Responsible for successful cultivation activities from seed/clone through harvest, following company policies and procedures and in compliance with provincial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the grow portion of operations, including developing a detailed plan and timeline for plant production from seed/clone to harvest.
  • Initiates and manages a harvest schedule to consistently meet the demands of the business.
  • Schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Tracks inventory levels and ensures that adequate supplies are available in reasonable quantities.
  • Ensures that grow rooms are clean, properly equipped and in good working order at all times.
  • Produces a product that meets all lab testing requirements at targeted yield levels with the expected amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • Clearly sets out a vision for success and educates cultivation members on how their actions and accomplishments contribute to the overall success of the company.
  • Establishes and enforces standards of accountability for cultivation staff.
  • Completes regularly scheduled quality assessment of plants for signs of pests/disease.
  • Ensure staff is trained and follows appropriate SOPs.
  • Ensures that all requisite information is maintained in the state required computer system and site records are up to date.
  • Provide work direction to other growers.
  • Complete inventory audits compliant with state and company requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Botany, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or other related field
  • 5+ years experience in a large-scale commercial growing operation in an indoor horticulture environment, with four years at the management level
  • Experience with grow data acquisition
  • Experience designing nutrient mixes
  • Familiar with supply chain software
  • Can grow to schedule
  • Advanced knowledge of horticulture practices including cloning
  • Ability to identify and remedy plant disease states
  • Familiar with good agricultural practices (GAP)
  • Can identify and remedy suboptimal nutrient states

Preferred

  • Previous experience in the medical cannabis industry

Physical Demands

  • Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication may be required. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office and laboratory equipment. Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting scientific and packaging equipment.
  • Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of problems.

Work Environment

The job is performed indoors in a traditional indoor grow setting. Exposure to agricultural chemicals and agents is expected. Protective safety clothing, goggles, gloves, facemasks, and/or headgear are required as needed. Activities include extended periods of standing and bending.
