Landscape Maintenance Lead Hand

Job Type: Full-time 44 hours/week (Plus overtime) Monday - Saturday

Wage: $22 - $25 / hour (1.5X Overtime)

Required Experience: Landscape Maintenance Lead Hand; 1 year+ Similar Experience. Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, rotate and stand for long periods of time.

License or Certification: Class 5 Driver’s Licence Required, CSTS-9, First Aid Certification

Required Equipment: Steel Toed Boots, Hard Hat

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain commercial, residential, and neighbourhood landscape areas to our Cutting Edge standards.
  • Organize, motivate and manage a crew of landscaping maintenance personnel on a daily basis
  • Provide direction and feedback to employees, communicate with managers, and clients.
  • Operate a truck and trailer, and a variety of small equipment:
    • Mowers
    • Trimmers
    • Edger’s
    • Sheers
    • Sprayers
    • Back Pack Blowers
    • Aerators
    • Sprayers
    • Water pumps
    • Sweepers
    • Various power & hand tools
  • Perform various tasks such as:
    • Turf care including mowing, trimming, edging, fertilizing, weeding, and watering
    • Basic pruning of shrubs and trees
    • Remove litter and debris from site
    • Plant and water shrubs, bulbs, and annuals
    • Install mulch, edger, and assist landscape construction division
    • Identify common plant material, diseases, and insect damage
  • Equipment maintenance checks on trucks, trailers, mowers, and small engines.
  • Daily paperwork including timesheets, daily logs, safety documents, and spray records.
  • Applicable certificates/training:
    • Integrated Pest Management – (Asset)
    • Weed Applicator Certificate – (Asset)
    • Basic Pruning Knowledge
    • Small Engine Mechanics & Maintenance Knowledge
  • Have an attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform equipment maintenance and daily checks, ensure all equipment is in proper working order
  • Uphold our safety culture and safe work practices. Complete required paperwork for our safety program and participates in weekly meetings.
  • Work is labour intensive and will be outdoors in all weather conditions.
