The Position – Landscape Maintenance Technician

Seasonal (with winter work available)

 

Summary of the Position

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent work ethics, customer service skills and attention to detail. This roll is responsible for performing a variety of related landscape maintenance tasks such as, property maintenance, and lawn cutting under supervision of the maintenance foreman.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Minimum 1 year landscape maintenance experience or equivalent; is considered as an asset
• Experience with lawn maintenance equipment (string line, trimmers, walk behind mower)
• Own transportation is an asset, not required
• Experience working outside for long periods of time in various weather conditions
• Ability to work 8-10 hours pre day may include weekends and holidays, if required  
• Ability to stand, walk and crouch for long periods of time and carry out physical tasks
• Safety steel toed boots and International Landscaping uniform
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Team work and player
• Excellent problem solving and time management skills
• Attention to detail

 

Responsibilities

• Loading/unloading of trucks and trailers from start to finish of shift; including all equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
• Conduct to complete daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Assist in other job-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment cleaning
• Operate power equipment including, but not limited to lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pursing saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
• Perform maintenance work including; lawn, trimming, mulching, weeding, litter pick up, and any other landscape duties
• Occasionally, provide written reports:
• Document any damaged equipment or problems
• Document and report any safety concerns to the Joint Health and Safety Committee
• Comply with all company polices and regulations
• Communicate with clients in a polite and courteous manners
