Who we are: Natural Impressions Landscaping is a small eco-landscaping firm that specializes in regenerative and sustainable horticultural practices. Founded in 2009 by owner/operator Andrew Burgess, the company specializes in design, installation and maintenance of various landscapes. Our passion for sustainable living, eco-landscaping, exceptional customer service and quality craftsmanship have made us a favorable company throughout the Ottawa area. What we offer/What you could qualify for: *Wages: $18-25.00 per hour depending on experience. Paid bi-weekly via direct deposit! Potential for end of season bonuses! *Guaranteed 40 hours pay per week from May 1st to November 1st 2018! Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 7-5 or 6 p.m. approx. We try to cap the hours around 40-50 max per week to avoid burnout. We generally start on April 25th every year and work until about the first week of December if weather permits. *Full uniform and initial PPE covered by us. ie. Safety glasses, gloves, etc. 1x Patagonia or The North Face waterproof rain jacket provided! (We like to look and feel good on the job!) $200 work boot allowance per year! 10% off select work gear at Mark’s Work Wearhouse! *1 bottle of organic sunscreen provided per season. Expensive sunscreen!!! *$500.00 per year to help out with any dental/vision/medical needs you may have! *1 week off in August with $500.00 pay! *CAA membership, Costco membership, Gym membership. Together we’ll choose 1 of these for you. If you’re an absolute superstar we’ll pay for all 3 for you! Open to suggestions on other potential memberships/things that would benefit you. *Access to discounts and training programs via Landscape Ontario! *Paid emergency first aid C/AED training! *Discount on landscape materials for your yard! ie. plants, etc. *Bonus paid out if you drive an all-electric vehicle! *Occasionally take staff to Nordik Spa for an all-expenses paid day of relaxation! *Occasionally take you out for breakfast and lunch to say thanks for all you do for us! *Staff parties/get together at the beginning and end of the season! What/Who we’re looking for: *Certified Horticultural Technician or Landscape Gardener. Maintenance/garden installation experience with strong plant identification is ideal. (Willing to train the right person) *Must have clean drivers abstract. G class license is a must. Must have a reliable vehicle. No bus routes to our location. Bicycle is fine if you live close, but a car is still necessary as you may be asked to meet us on-site directly from time to time. Ideal candidate would be able to safely drive a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a dump trailer attached to the back. (We can train you to drive with this combo. Not nearly as intimidating as it sounds.) *Be comfortable operating small machinery and machinery such as a Toro Dingo or a skid steer from time to time. (Easily train you. Nothing to be intimidated about. Super fun part of the job!) *Be able to read landscape drawings. (Easy to train you) *Be able to eventually see various landscape projects through from start to finish on your own, or with very little guidance. Mainly all residential gardening projects. Hardscaping experience is an asset, but not necessary at all. Main tasks will involve installing various garden projects and performing garden maintenance. Occasionally work by yourself and lead a positive team environment of 2-3 people. *Be punctual and have the ability to take direction well. *Able to work 8-11 hours per day approx Mon-Fri in various weather. ie. rain, heat, cold. *Be in good shape! This career is not for someone who is out of shape. You must be able to lift rocks, shrubs, etc. that weigh 50-60-70-80 lbs. You get the picture! Pretty standard for this industry. *Have strong communication skills. English is a must. French is a very nice asset. *Must have your own cell phone. Smart phone preferred. Keep in touch with the crew/owner. We will help out with your monthly bill if you don't have unlimited calling, etc.
