Required qualifications include a horticulture background, the ability to accurately interpret and layout architectural and engineering drawings, prior experience safely operating construction equipment and a clean Ontario driver’s license. A thorough knowledge of Worker Health & Safety requirements and how they apply at Ontario construction sites is vital.
You will take direction from the Project Manager to safely, accurately and effectively carry out project requirements. Your extensive knowledge of plant species, in particular trees, and of planting, growing and maintenance techniques will be critical to your ability to perform your required duties. Your experience as a Crew Leader will be essential as you direct your crew on construction of landscape features that include such items as planting bed layouts, tree/shrub planting, hard landscaping, parklands and amenities as well as pruning and live plant maintenance. You will ensure that you and your crew comply with safety regulations, provincial laws and company policies and that conduct is becoming to the company’s image. You will be required to submit accurate daily project reports.
