The Project Manager is responsible for the landscaping projects from the time of the initial estimate to the completion of the job. The PM is accountable for the sales, design, customer experience and profitability of the jobs. Landscaping projects can be as small as sodding and planting or as large a landscape construction to entire properties.
Duties and responsibilities
The PM is responsible for the landscaping projects from initial consultation to completion. The duties and responsibilities include:
Design landscapes for properties using software for hardscapes and softscapes
Estimate the cost and revenue for jobs
Create proposals and sell the design and price to customers
Provide detailed work orders for the crews
Order materials for jobs
Schedule crews to achieve production targets
Communicate with customers and crew ongoing
Ensure profitability on all jobs
Create sales plans to achieve margin targets
Ensure customer satisfaction on each job
Qualifications include:
Diploma in landscape design-an asset
5 years of Landscape Construction experience
Goal oriented and customer oriented
Driver’s license and vehicle
Working conditions
The PM will need to have a flexible schedule since landscaping has large peaks and valleys in the work load. In the spring, you will need to work many evenings and weekends providing quotes and designs.
