We are seeking dedicated, hardworking, team oriented professionals to join our Grounds Department as Landscape Gardeners from April 2018 to October/November 2018 six days a week weather dependent (Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and one weekend morning 5:30 am to 9:30 am).

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Under the supervision and direction of the Golf Course and Grounds Manager and Assistant Golf Course Manager, the Seasonal Landscape Gardener  will perform his/her duties to maintain the golf course grounds including the mowing of various areas, as well as topdressing, repairing divots, trimming, pruning and any other general maintenance work that may be required on the golf course.  

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

 

  • Completion of High School Education (Grade 12) or equivalent is required
  • A post-secondary education in the related field is not required but is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of landscaping and golf course maintenance is preferred
  • Good communication skills with a good working knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining composure and performance standard during busy peak periods
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors for long periods of time
  • Must be able to perform lifting and mild strenuous activity
  • Well groomed, mannerly, co-operative and outwardly friendly (team oriented).
  • Able to work shifts - days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Punctual and reliable

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

Possession of valid driver’s license (G2) and a safe driving record required.

 

Contract Terms

  • 44 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and one weekend morning 5:30 am to 9:30 am
  • Start time is 0600 is not negotiable
  • Accessible by TTC so make sure your accessibility to TTC works with the 0600 start time
  • Hourly Wage
  • Complimentary parking
  • Uniform provided by the Club
  • Training will be provided
  • April to October/November (weather dependent)
