OB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Landscape Maintenance Foreperson is responsible for leading maintenance crews and is expected to supervise, train, motivate, supervise crew, health & safety, submit employee timesheets, and assist crew members as workloads dictate.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that all workers are trained in the safe operation of the equipment they are using, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Record damage to equipment
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained and safe for operation
• Coordinate and participate in the proper care of landscaping and grounds to include trimming, edging, weeding, pruning of trees and shrubs
• Apply herbicides, pesticides and fungicides
• Apply seeds, bulbs, plants, mulch and fertilizers as directed
• Operate weed eaters, power edgers, power mowers, backpack sprayers, hoes, shovels, hand tools and related landscape equipment as required
• Identify plants, insects, pests and diseases as appropriate
• Provide advanced technical guidance to grounds personnel in the proper maintenance and care of shrubs, trees, flowers and groundcovers
• Instruct workers in cultivation requirements for decorative plantings and ornamental beds.
• Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to
• Inspect assigned areas for plant damage, disease, soil erosion, or landscape problems and report to Division Manager
• Identify plants, insects, pests and diseases as appropriate
• Proper use of equipment and tools as assigned
• Physical requirements of lifting, bending, pulling and pushing
• Snow removal during winter season
• Work safely at all times, in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Follow all company policies and procedures


REQUIREMENTS
• A post-secondary diploma in landscape construction and landscape management technology or related fields, and or previous work experience obtained over a minimum of 3 years
• CLT Certification
• Drivers licence with a clean abstract
• Experience driving truck and trailer
• Winter snow removal experience considered an asset
